5. Senior Art Director – Sunderland, VT
The Senior Art Director is responsible for directing the creative visual messaging across all channels for the Men’s and Pet categories. They must be able to plan, conceptualize, direct and implement the photo art direction and graphic design requirements for Orvis Men’s Clothing and Pet catalogs, email, web, and collateral for the US and UK markets. He/she must be able to bring new design ideas that consistently capture and present Orvis DNA with all the rich detail and personality as defined in the Orvis Branding Guide. The Senior Art Director will directly supervise one or two other Art Directors. In addition, they will also lead the multi channel design team for Men’s and Pet categories. This person will direct the activity of a design and photo production team to complete all assigned work in the Men’s Clothing and Pet areas.
- Attract, develop and retain “the best” team necessary to complete assigned work.
- Lead the Men’s Clothing and Pet creative teams, including oversight of project scheduling, budgeting, external crew staffing, talent, locations, and interface with merchandising.
- Work with DMM, Copywriters and other Merchandising associates to plan and conceptualize the thematic creative approach to multi channel presentations; to include but not limited to Theme/Concept, Build, Line Review, Merch Pres, Pre-Art/Copy, Merch Turnover, Style Out, Film Edit, Art/Copy, Cover, and Color Correction meetings
- Review all new and repeat merchandise presented for new catalog efforts and advise regarding best possible presentation techniques.
- Direct and/or personally execute the graphic design of all assigned catalog pages and collateral projects in accordance with all creative standards, applicable schedules and deadlines.
- Work with team production manager and Senior Manager of Logistics to create timely, detailed production schedules necessary to complete all assigned work with the full integration of all intra- and cross-departmental parties.
Direct and/or personally execute all new photography, to include location and studio work for lifestyle, new products and “re-present” products.
2. Retail Fishing Manager – Dedham, MA
The Orvis Retail Fishing Manager is a retail professional role model in attitude and appearance who drives sales and profit growth by providing a world-class shopping experience to all Orvis customers. The Fishing Manager assists the Store Manager in all management duties of the retail store, completes assignments delegated by the Store Manager, and is responsible for the daily operations of the fly-fishing department including coaching and training other store associates to be confident in selling fishing and outdoor products.
We are looking for managers who can establish, maintain, and promote Sporting Tradition activities that enhance our reputation in the marketplace as well as introduce new customers to this lifestyle through fly-fishing schools, casting clinics, and seminars. The successful Fishing Manager has experience developing relationships with local fly-fishing organizations, conservation groups, Orvis Endorsed Operations, and other partners that can increase customer traffic and the use of Orvis products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Subscribe to the highest customer service standards, and provide a personal example for the team of a true retail professional at all times;
- Partner with the Store Manager to train and coach store associates on selling skills in order to drive sales and achieve store sales goals;
- Understand Orvis policy and procedures, adhere to them, and ensure compliance by the team;
- Be an ambassador of the brand and instill the Orvis Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Culture in the entire team;
- Communicate the Orvis Brand and its lifestyle through creative and effective presentations, maintain visual standards, emphasize key product/corporate directed messages, and maximize sell-through by product placement and signage.
3. Retail Store Manager – Tysons Corner, VA
The Inventory Manager of Rod and Tackle manages the planning and operations of the inventory functions for the Hunting and Fishing categories. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented individual with strong mathematical, communication and management skills; must be highly analytical, detail oriented and have excellent judgment and decision making ability; BA/BS degree in business-related field and 5+ years experience managing inventory control related functions in a multi channel company.

- Understand Orvis policy and procedures, adhere to them, and ensure compliance by the team;
- Be an ambassador of the brand and instill the Orvis Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Culture in the entire team;
- Communicate the Orvis brand and its lifestyle through creative and effective presentations, maintain visual standards, emphasize key product/corporate directed messages, and maximize sell-thru by product placement and signage;
- Ensure financial goals are achieved;
- Recruit, interview, hire, develop, coach, and train store associates to deliver sales and customer service objectives.
4. Retail Sales Associate, Fishing Lead – Baton Rouge, LA
The Retail Sales Associate – Fishing Lead is a retail professional who embraces The Orvis Culture and provides a world-class shopping experience to all Orvis customers with an emphasis on fly-fishing and outdoors merchandise.
- Be an ambassador of the brand and instill the Orvis Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Culture in the entire team;
- Achieve defined sales goals;
- Assist customers by providing individualized attention;
- Acquire knowledge of Orvis products;
- Complete additional assignments from store management, including but not limited to:

a. Stocking and maintaining sales floor
b. Processing shipments into and out of store
c. Processing catalog orders filled through store
d. Maintaining visual presentation standards
e. Performing duties specific to the fly-fishing department
5. Retail Sales Associate – Richmond, VA

- Achieve defined sales goals;
- Assist customers by providing individualized attention;
- Acquire knowledge of Orvis products;
- Complete additional assignments from store management, including but not limited to:
