Last spring, we posted a couple of pictures of Matt Millner of Jamie Rouse Fly Fishing Adventures with a young angler and two giant trout. Well, Matt’s returned to Arkansas’s Dry Run Creek for more, and he sent this photo and story:

On Saturday, I guided 13-year-old Marshal from San Antonio on his first fly fishing trip. We wade-fished Dry Run Creek in northwestern Arkansas. It is a special-regulations fishery, open to kids under 16 and the mobility impaired, that flows into Norfork Tailwater. Marshal’s grandfather has been fishing with me for years and wanted his grandson to have the trip of a lifetime. Marshal landed eight fish over 20 inches, this brown being one of the best. He caught the fish on 5X tippet with a size 14 Soft Hackle. Fall fishing in Arkansas is on fire right now!

Great job, Marshal! With a start like that, how could he not become a dedicated fly fisherman?
