Blog reader Trygg Danforth, of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, sent us this great photo, along with a note:
I just thought you guys would like this picture. Caught this 18.5-pound peacock bass on the Agua Boa River in Brazil while staying at Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. The fish actually had a 3-inch spear tip broken off in the back of its head. (If you look close you can see the hole where the guide pulled it out). I was using a fly that my guide, Neto, gave me that day, which was so productive that I proceeded to use it for four straight days until a piranha nicked my line and I lost it. Great trip at a great lodge and all my Orvis rods, reels, and bags held up great. Thanks!
