As regular readers know, Dave and Amelia Jensen of Fly Fish Alberta escape the Canadian Rockies each winter for the trout-filled waters of New Zealand’s South Island. We’ve featured many of their gorgeous photos and videos from their adventures. It seems that this year’s trip is off to a roaring start, as these photos and Amelia’s accompanying note make clear:

Just to share a couple of pics with the H2 here in NZ. Each day—somehow—I have been lucky enough to land a 9+ lb brown as the first fish of the day. All 5 days so far. Yesterday was good for filming, too: 2 big browns on totally different water—one in a fast pocket ate a huge terrestrial, the next on a flat sipped a small dry.
