Announcing our #orvisflyfishing Contest Winner

In late July we asked to you share your #orvisflyfishing photos for a chance to win an Orvis Recon and some great Trout Bum gear , and as always there was no shortage of great photos.

In the end, however, there was one image that grabbed the attention of multiple judges and rose to the top.

Congratulations to Chris Delsing of Medina, WA who shot this black and white of Orvis Bellevue Store Associate and Fly Fishing Guru Leland Miyiwaki, casting with a stunning backdrop.

Chris writes:

“It was a clinic hosted by Orvis Bellevue and Leland around sea run cutthroat strategies. We had a classroom session then this field trip out to the Puget Sound at a beach near the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. As you can see, it was an awesome foggy day and a perfect backdrop to watch Leland do his magic.”

Thanks to everyone who participated!

If you’re looking for another chance to win some great Orvis gear, look no further than our 20 Days in September contest.

  1. Cool photo but honestly picking a winner from a picture of an orvis employee is pretty lacking in creativity. Next time I hire an orvis guide I will submit a picture as well. Oh and no I didnt enter a photo just thought I’d comment on this fair contest.

  2. Hey guys. Hear you loud and clear and understand the perception. I can assure you though the judges were far more interested in the composition than those featured. The topic of perception did come up but it was clear from the judging that this photo was the favorite, and it would not have been fair nor honest to not give this to Chris.
