Our Fourth of July Made-in-the-USA Giveaway received more than 12,000 entries, and when I hit the button to reveal the randomly selected winner this morning, the name that popped out was Dan Nolten, of Federal Way, Washington.
From among the four made-in-the-USA possible prizes, Dan carefully selected a 3-weight Superfine Glass Fly Rod (made at our rod shop in Manchester, Vermont) and a CFO Reel (made in California).
We asked Dan to tell us a bit about his fishing life, and here is what he shared:
My dad and grandpa taught me to fish when I was 9 years old, and I took up fly fishing 14 years ago. I fish mostly in Washington state for sea-run cutthroat trout in the Puget Sound and for trout in lakes, rivers, and streams. The picture above is of the biggest trout I’ve ever caught, at Rocky Ford Creek in eastern Washington. I’m so excited that I won the rod and reel!
Congrats to Dan and thanks to all who entered the contest. We’ll launch another one soon, so stay tuned!
