Last month, we relaunched the Orvis Fly Fishing Learning Center, featuring an all-new design and the first chapter of new content, on Euro Nymphing. For 13 weeks, we will be adding a new chapter to the Learning Center each week. This week, it’s all about streamers, as you can see from the intro video below!
If you haven’t checked out the Learning Center before, it’s an incredible FREE resource for anglers. Here are all the things you can do on the site:
- Watch 15 different video chapters on the basics of fly fishing
- Watch 13 full video chapters on advanced/intermediate level fly fishing for stream trout, stillwater trout, freshwater bass, steelhead, striped bass, and bonefish
- Watch 28 instructional casting videos by casting guru Pete Kutzer
- Watch complete fly pattern videos plus fly-tying technique videos from Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions
- Listen to all of the Orvis podcasts, and search the podcasts for topics that interest you. (This is the only place where Orvis podcasts are searchable.)
- Watch videos of 21 different fly-fishing knots, with additional step-by-step animations for each one
- Read articles on how to choose fly-fishing equipment
- Watch videos on how to select fly-fishing gear
- Access the Orvis rod selector to help you choose the right fly rod
- Use a glossary of common fly-fishing lingo
- Learn how to fish with your family
- Test yourself with fly-fishing quizzes
- Test your knowledge of fish and insects with flash cards
- Read over 30 full-length fly-fishing articles and stories
- Find out how stream access laws apply in your state
- Quickly and easily get an online fishing license for all 50 States

The redesign is amazing! Very clean and easy to navigate, good job Orvis!
I went there and the first thing I clicked on didn’t work. Animated knots section. Bad first impression.

Thank you for updating this site. It is amazing
Bob, we are working on this right now. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Beat on those programmers Tom! That’s what we have to do with ours. Lack of attention to detail. ; )
The new arrangement does look good. I jumped right to the animations because I recall those looked to be the same ones from the old Orvis fly fishing app. Keep up the improvements. BTW – love the podcasts.
How does one find “search”or a site map on the new site?
Hi Tom/Orvis!
My son (10) and I LOVE your podcasts. Up until now, we would download the podcasts onto my son’s mp3 player (which is not an iOS or Android product) so he can listen to them when he’s on the go. Since you launched the new design, we can no longer download the podcasts since there is no longer a link to do so and we really miss being able to do this. Can you please make the podcasts downloadable again? Alternatively, is there a way to download the podcasts that we are not aware of?
Thanks again for creating these wonderful podcasts. We really enjoy them and have learned a lot.
All the best,
Dave and Leo
Hi Dave and Leo, we always have a downloadable link on the blog!

Site looks great. Thanks! Great content and well organized. But my login doesn’t work and the password reset doesn’t work either. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
