After working the massive Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, several Orvis folk headed to Falcon’s Ledge—in Altamont, about 115 miles to the east—to recover. Orvis’s Director of Retail Sales & Operations, Jaimie Mercer, spent a day on the water with Chris Olson, Fly-Fishing Manager of Orvis Houston, and guide Grant Bench. According to Chris, who took these pictures of Jaimie:

In six hours, I caught brook trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and mountain whitefish. Falcon’s Ledge feels like home the minute you walk into the front door. Having said that you must add spending a day with Grant on Rock Creek in Utah to your bucket list. You will never forget it. These pictures tell the story.

It looks like Jaimie took Grant’s instructions and put them to work right away!

Brookies aren’t native, but they thrive in cool Utah mountain streams.
