Classic Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival 08.05.16

Welcome to a new edition of the Orvis News Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival, in which we scour the Web for the best fly-fishing videos available. I am fishing in Utah this week, so here is one of my favorite F5s from the past—featuring a dozen videos that oughta get you pumped up for the weekend, from New Zealand to the Pacific Northwest, from Kazakhstan (!!!) to Colorado.

For best results, watch all videos at full-screen and in high definition. Remember, we surf so you don’t have to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of inclusion in a future F5, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll take a look.

The Rio Gallegos has its origin in the Southern Andes with two pristine and very beautiful streams, the Penitente and the Rubens. Winding its way through the wild Patagonian landscape, it emerges into the surprisingly mountainous area that encompasses the unique Las Buitreras beats, where huge sea-run browns will eat flies.

Rolf and Peter, fresh off their epic New Zealand adventure, take a shot at catching trout in Kazakhstan, a country never before featured here on the F5.

The life cycle of the mayfly produces a feeding frenzy of the trout, which feed on large insects with avidity. The colorful brown trout, with their copper reflections, move below the water surface in search of easy food.
