Photos of the Day: Personal-Best Redfish

A few buddies of mine and I headed up to central Florida for the Skinny Water Culture Christmas party. We made a pit stop to do some fishing along the way, and I landed my biggest redfish ever. The 8-weight Helios 2 had this dude whipped in under 10 minutes. The fish was in the mid 40-inch range and had the biggest head I have ever seen on a red. I caught the fish on a Rattle Demon, a fly which was given to me by Ryan Curley (a commercial tyer for Black Fly Outfitters). It was designed for giant black drum and bull reds….it worked like a charm!
