Friday Fly Fishing Film Festival 10.25.19

Welcome to the another edition of the Orvis News Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival! Each week, we scour the Web for the best fly-fishing videos available and then serve them up for you to enjoy. It wasn’t a banner week for great video, frankly, but we pulled together nine cool productions that display many sides of our sport. There are destinations such as Mongolia, Patagonia, and the Maritimes, as well as cool looks at Wyoming, New York, and Colorado. I love the youth angle, as well.

For best results, watch all videos at full-screen and in high definition. Remember, we surf so you don’t have to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of inclusion in a future F5, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll take a look.

And don’t forget to check out the old, but awesome, Orvis fly-fishing video theater: The Tug. There are more than 1,250 great videos on the site, and you can search for exactly what you want to see.

Fishing during the green-drake hatch in southern Wyoming looks spectacular.
Here’s a very cool video about South America’s unique Atlantic steelhead river and the threats it faces.
Alaska is a special place, and when you have a helicopter, you can explore places no one else can go.
Upstate New York ain’t Alaska, but those king salmon are seriously strong.
This ad for a lodge in Newfoundland features some remarkable trout.
This video is a bit trippy, but it captures the excitement of a Mongolian adventure.
Utah’s Uintas offer a gorgeous wilderness experience pretty close to major population centers.
Dang, kid. You’re ruined now..
Young Maxine McCormick took the fly-casting world by storm. Check out this cool trailer for a film about her ascent.
