Here’s Your 2017 Consumer Fly-Fishing Show Schedule!

Although you might still be focused on making your fly-fishing Christmas list, soon enough it will be time to think about which fly-fishing consumer shows you want to attend in the new year. As usual, show season kicks off in Denver, and January is chock-full of great events, from New Jersey to Idaho and from Massachusetts to Northern California. We’ve lost a couple big shows since last year–those in Winston-Salem and Calgary (which is just taking a one-year sabbatical–but we’ve added Atlanta and Plano, Texas.

So find the show nearest you (or the big one you’re willing to travel to) and mark your calendar. Spending two or three days checking out new products, fondling tying materials, or watching one of your heroes on the casting pond is a great way to beat the winter blues. These shows are also great places to check out the new Orvis stuff, such as the new Helios 2 Covert Rods, Battnekill Disc Reels, and a blockbuster as-yet-unannounced new product. If you’ve never been to one of these events, check out the video above, which captures the experience of the Somerset, New Jersey show. And here’s a video of Tom at last year’s show:

  1. Please add the East Idaho Fly Tying Expo. April 21-22 in Idaho Falls, ID.

Web site is srcexpo.com or also on Facebook.

  2. Saw that someone corrected the date for Bear’s Den event. When I saw the date I wondered if that was a mistake.

  3. Please add our fly fishing expo information:
The Branson Fly Fishing Expo will be held on July 28 and 29, 2017, from 9am to 5pm in Branson, Missouri. This is the first annual fly fishing event presented by the Missouri Trout Fishermen’s Association, Springfield and Branson Chapters. It will be held at the Branson-Hollister Lions Club Community Center, 1015 E. State Hwy 76, Branson, MO.
