As most of you already know, the Orvis Company commits 5% of pre-tax profits to protecting nature, and we are proud to join millions of people and organizations around the world in celebrating the ninth-annual Earth Hour, the world’s largest public action for the environment. Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 162 countries and territories worldwide.
We believe we must operate our business responsibly, protect the environment and conserve the world’s limited natural resources. Therefore, all Orvis stores and offices will be participating in some way:
- Our headquarters, retail stores, and rod shop in Vermont will go dark for the entire night of the 28th.
- Other retail stores will close early, so they will be ready to turn off the lights at 8:30 to 9:30 PM (your local time).
- Agents will staff our Orvis Service Center, while the majority of the facility participates in Earth Hour.
Although our call center is participating, you can expect the same high level of service for any questions and orders.
