This week for “Master Class Monday”—our new feature about taking your fly fishing skills to the next level—Pete Kutzer demonstrates a quick-and-dirty way to make the wraps for creating a clinch knot. This is a great tip for when your hands are cold and dexterity might be a problem, or for when you need to tie that knot fast to get your fly back in the water.

What a great simple tip. Why didn’t I think of this?
You’re da man Pete!!
Will try this idea. Might have a problem with smaller flies. 14-20.
Thx.
Pete, talk to Tom. Improved Clinch knot is out. Otherwise, good tip.
I love that the video continued to show how we went about completing the improved clinch knot. I always fumble the tippet between my fingers to get it done, but Pete made it look so easy. Definitely studying, practicing and mirroring his dexterity.
OMG Life changing…..!
Good review. Thanks
