On January 28, we launched a new Helios 2 sweepstakes, which generated a lot of excitement. It’s been fun reading about where all the entrants would want to use a new rod. From among the thousands of entries, however, there could be just one lucky winner. Our randomly selected recipient of a Helios 2 fly rod is Monte Howard of Kingwood, West Virginia. He chose a 10-foot, 3-weight Helios 2 with Tip-flex action. We asked Monte to tell us a bit about his fishing life, and here is what he shared:
Fly Fishing is my passion, and my wife, Brenda, is my constant companion. Over the years, I have fished with many family members, friends, and strangers. There is no more peaceful activity than wading in the water pursuing a bite from a wiley trout. I am not a purist, for I will bait-fish, spinner-fish, and fly-fish. I have two son-in laws who have bass boats, so we also partake in bass fishing when the opportunity presents itself. We own a camper and enjoy camping and fishing with friends. We do some catch-and-release, but we also keep some. I am vegetarian, but I have family and elder friends that enjoy a fresh fillet, so I will prepare and deliver them fresh fish.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I have so many fish stories and loved ones I have shared them with, I can’t begin to mention them all in one paragraph, it would take a book. Hopefully will get geared-up and on the stream sometime in March!
