If you love to fish with two-handed rods (or are just “Spey-curious”), you’ll want to check out the latest issue of Swing the Fly, “the voice of Spey.” My recent trip to Norway introduced me to the world of two-handed fly fishing, and now I’m eager to learn a lot more. The Summer 2015 number of the magazine offers great features on the Olympic Peninsula’s famed Hoh River, finding the right water on Great Lakes tributaries, using Spey rods for trout, and legendary angler Trey Combs. There are also plenty of wonderful photos, discussions of conservation, and a cool fly pattern.
