Orvis Guide to Euro-Nymphing, Part 2a: Demystifying Leaders and Rigging

In this installment of our seven-part series on Euro-nymphing, Tom Rosenbauer and George Daniel explain why a longer rod helps you keep more line off the water and why a long leader with a sighter makes fishing this way easier. An extra foot of rod length actually translates to three feet of fishing distance because of the angles involved, and the sighter helps you detect strikes without having any line on the water.
