In this installment of our seven-part series on Euro-nymphing, Tom Rosenbauer and George Daniel focus on casting. Because you are not using much fly line, your goal is to fling the weight of the flies in a stealthy way. George describes the cast as a “flop,” which allows you to put the flies and leader in the water, stopping the rod high. It’s all about letting the rod do the work.
