Gunsmith – Sunderland, Vermont

The role of the Orvis Gunsmith is multi-faceted: the Orvis Gunsmith works closely with the Orvis Gunroom Manager to complete all manner of gun repair and restoration, inspection of consignment firearms, and service of Orvis-owned sporting arms. Additionally, the Orvis Gunsmith assists the Gunroom Manager and Associates at our three Orvis Shooting Grounds in the support of customers who seek to buy a new or used gun, consign a gun, or accomplish gun repairs or alterations through Orvis. The Orvis Gunsmith is an authoritative resource, and an Associate who embodies the Orvis commitment to unrivaled product and service.

Designer, Technical Outdoor Apparel – Sunderland, Vermont

We are seeking a Designer for Technical Outdoor Apparel to join our team and ensure flawless execution of product and design vision from concept through completion by creating and executing compelling design concepts and styles that meet and exceed the Orvis brand and business expectations.  The Designer is a key product & design leader, evangelist and contributor to the department. In this role you will provide design inspiration and conceptual directives for responsible categories in alignment with the Men’s and Women’s Apparel categories.

Retail Planner, Fishing and Hunting – Sunderland, Vermont

The Retail Planner is responsible for developing pre-season item level forecasts for the US and UK Retail Channel. This includes all reporting, forecasting, reacting to business trends as it pertains to the plans.

Fishing/Outfitter Specialist– Roanoke, Virginia

The Outfitter Specialist handles incoming calls, chats, and emails from customers who wish to place catalog orders or make inquiries on existing orders, products, repairs or services, and provide personal and friendly customer service that exceeds our customers’ expectations.  They will handle a wide variety of customers including, but not limited to, mail order, dealer, company stores, ELOG and Pro Guide.  They will initiate and negotiate credits, replacements, & certificates while making pertinent decisions to solve customer requests including answering questions concerning Orvis outdoor products and schools and their applications.

Retail Fishing Manager – Minneapolis, MN, and Louisville, KY

The Orvis Retail Fishing Manager is a retail professional role model in attitude and appearance who drives sales and profit growth by providing a world-class shopping experience to all Orvis customers.  The Fishing Manager assists the Store Manager in all management duties of the retail store, is responsible for the daily operations of the fly-fishing department, and demonstrates excellent business acumen including visual merchandising, sales analysis, and success in selling fishing, outdoor and the wider range of Orvis products.

  1. Wish you had part time work locally in the retail fishing department field. Few days and nights a week and weekends here and there. Been 35+ years since working in clothing sales but could handle the fishing end easy. Including 101 and the like. I have medical insurance via the VA so don’t need any benefits. I retired early but still want to do something when not fishing or birding.
