Digital Merchants provide the merchandising vision for one of the product categories (Women’s, Dog, Fish/Hunt) on the Orvis website. We are seeking candidates with a passion for product, retail, and an ability to drive sales in a fast-paced environment. These three Merchant positions will be part of our digital-merchandising team, and each will have the responsibility for managing the assortment, marketing, and directly overseeing merchandising of the Fish/Hunt, Dog, or Women’s category. Digital merchandising experience is required.
Marketing and merchandising responsibilities will include key product offers and their corresponding product pages, landing pages, e-mail, shop pages, site banners, and home page. Strategies / tactics evaluated will include assortment expansion, product placement, site navigation, onsite search, engaging content, banners, e-mail product selection and promotions, and online marketing programs.
The Category Marketing Manager – Dogwill work to accelerate growth in Orvis Dog product sales by identifying strategies and opportunities to make Orvis the leading brand among dog owners in the US and UK. This position is responsible for the stewardship of omni-channel marketing strategy for the Dog category, as well as developing key relationships within the dog community. The successful candidate is a detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively with multiple functional partners within the organization and strategic external partners.

The Assistant Merchant for the Men’s & Gift division strives to enable our customer to connect with the adventure and wonder in the natural world, as well as with their family & friends. The ideal candidate will collaborate with, assist, and support the Divisional Manager in curating seasonal assortments and will foster a strong, supportive, and energetic team dynamic. The role is focused primarily on the Consumer Direct sales channel. Success will be measured in the category’s ability to meet the sales and profit goals, as well as the individual’s ability to contribute and execute to the category vision, facilitate cross-functional partnerships, and meet deadlines. This individual will understand and respect the Orvis brand, lifestyle, and customer and have a personal taste and affinity for Orvis product lines.
The Orvis Retail Fishing Manager is a retail professional role model in attitude and appearance who drives sales and profit growth by providing a world-class shopping experience to all Orvis customers. The Fishing Manager assists the Store Manager in all management duties of the retail store, is responsible for the daily operations of the fly-fishing department, and demonstrates excellent business acumen including visual merchandising, sales analysis, and success in selling fishing, outdoor and the wider range of Orvis products.
We are looking for managers who can establish, maintain, and promote Sporting Tradition activities that enhance our reputation in the marketplace as well as introduce new customers to this lifestyle through fly-fishing schools, casting clinics, and seminars. The successful Fishing Manager has experience developing relationships with local fly-fishing organizations, conservation groups, Orvis Endorsed Operations, and other partners that can increase customer traffic and the use of Orvis products.
