Photo of the Day: Cassie’s Monster Redband

That’s a trophy rainbow trout anywhere in the world, but it’s from Oregon.

Cassie caught the largest trout of her life while fishing a remote section of the Klamath River. This giant redband rainbow ate a size 14 natural Bird’s Nest—or as we all know it, a “caddis pattern.”
After putting her deep into her backing three times, this brute finally smiled for the camera. We all sat for the next half hour and just took in the river. Nothing else was necessary!

  1. Without a doubt a great feeling. but I caught the largest trout of my life time with no witnesses, no cameras, but with total satisfaction she was admired and released to satisfy someone elses ego. At that point I didn’t care about even telling anyone, I just knew I got a great fish and the great feeling of letting her go!!! Contgrats to you.
