Young Oliver started his fly-fishing career with a bang.

Here at Sandanona, we’ve had this grass carp that no one has been able to catch, despite many attempts. But young Oliver, here, caught this formerly uncatchable beast while throwing a Black Woolly Bugger with an orange bead during a casting lesson at Sandanona—on a 5-weight no less! He fought the thing like a champ for a good 10 to 15 minutes before landing it. It was his first time with a fly rod in his hand.

From one carp angler to another, many congratulations Oliver! It’s a monster!
