Photo of the Day: Dan’s First Savannah Flats Tarpon

It took three trips, but Dan finally got his first belize tarpon.

Here’s a shot of the tarpon I caught today on Savannah Flats in Belize. The colors on these fish are so incredible, mottled blues and greens that perfectly blend with the surroundings. This is my third trip down here to El Pescador.  I posted reports from the last two trips (see here and here), and both times my boatmates brought a nice tarpon to hand. This time it all came together for me. I’ll be back down here again for the bigger, migratory tarpon in July, and I’m already looking forward to it!

  1. Congrats on your first Beleize tarpon. I’ve been a couple times down there and like you, the other guys on the boat have been a bit more successful landing them. Hoping to get the chance to get back down in 2016.

    :Cheers
