The Henrys Fork below Ashton Reservoir is fishing well, thanks to shorter days and colder air temperatures which have kept the water consistently cooler. Fishing has been good with streamers and full-on nymph and bobber rigs. As the river opens up into the Last Chance section, terrestrials have been hot. A hopper with a sunken ant dropper is a very effective way to fish this area.
Daniel Lane works at the Three Rivers Ranch Fly Shop in Ashton, Idaho. The ranch itself, one of the original Orvis-endorsed lodges, is in Warm River.
