My first Pyrenees brown trout came from a tailwater on the border of Aragon and Catalonia.

Last weekend, my family visited with my friend and photographer, Sandy Hays, and we reminisced a bit about our trip to Spain a few years ago. (See Fly-Fishing for Trout in the Spanish Pyrenees: Discovering the Old World Anew.) When I got home, I pulled up the images Sandy shot on that adventure, reliving some of the highlights. This fish was the first I landed on Spanish soil, a fine brown that ate a streamer swung through a deep channel below a dam near the small village of Aren.
nice looking trout. looks different than the brownies we have here in this part of Canada though
