Capt. Lucas Bissett sent in this photo of an immense black drum caught in the Louisiana Marsh by Jess Soucie back in June. According to Bissett, the fish weighed 49 pounds, which would have beaten the line-class world record by 11 pounds. But since Jess didn’t want to kill such a beautiful beast, they released the fish, satisfied with just a great photo as a memento.
I applaud that decision. let someone else have a crack at it. never understood why people felt the need to kill a fish they weren’t going to eat.
