This gorgeous brook trout came from the Cheticamp River on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island.

Last summer, my wife Emily and I made an epic road trip through the Northeast, including the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Restigouche River in New Brunswick, Cape Breton National Park, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Boston. We did lots of hiking, fishing, and sightseeing. We had a wonderful trip and I can’t say enough great things about the Restigouche River Lodge. We ate like royalty for four days, not to mention that I caught my first Atlantic salmon on the fly! Cape Breton was also beautiful, and I caught some great brook trout on the Cheticamp River, my largest being 14 inches.

Taking a break on the Restigouche River in New Brunswick, Canada.

The author’s first Atlantic salmon went back in the water to fulfill its journey upstream.

Casting into the salt on Cape Breton Island.

The Cheticamp River flows through a lush, green valley.

It was no monster, but an any Atlantic is a trophy.

Getting in a few more casts at last light.
awesome photography!!!
Thanks for the inspirations
