A giant trevally caught from shore is a real trophy from the Laccadive Sea.

Our Swedish pal Pontus Gunlycke, who runs a fly-fishing blog called Salmoniserad, escaped the Great White North recently and headed to Lakshadweep. This archipelago of atolls and coral reefs off the coast of southwestern India is becoming a bit of a hot spot for adventure-seeking saltwater anglers. (Check out this cool video we posted last spring.) Pontus landed this giant trevally and bluefin travelly on his Helios2 and Hydros SL reel while casting from the beach.

The bluefin trevally is smaller but still puts up a ferocious fight.
