This fine Colorado brown trout was caught and released about a month ago.

We’ve previously posted several times about Colorado angler and blogger Jon Hill‘s forays into the Colorado mountains in search of cutthroats. (See here, here, here, and here.) Over the weekend, he sent a couple of photographs of a brown trout that he feels make an important point:
Just wanted to share this with you because I thought it was cool and yet another reason why I like to practice catch and release 99.9% of the time. Same fish, about a month between catches. (Notice the scaring behind the eye.) As long as people follow regulations I don’t mind keeping and eating, but I’d rather catch the same fish multiple times than eat it once.

And here’s the same brown, looking plenty healthy, about a month later.
