Orvis copywriter John Van Vleet (a.k.a. “JVV”)—the guy who actually writes the fly-fishing catalog—caught this brute while fishing with rod designer Shawn Combs (a.k.a. “Diddy”) over the summer. According to all parties involved, this beast put up a heck of a fight.

    Why does no one ever mention the pungent aroma of this fish? Is it that only East TN carp smell?

  2. Wow, I’m envious! I landed my first Mirror Carp the other day, it was about 24 inches, nothing compared to that monster you guys caught, congrats!
