Big bugs bring big fish to the surface, and the Big Hole was on fire in June.

The salmonfly hatch on the Big Hole was the best we’ve seen in years. These big bugs live underwater for three years and because we’ve had three good water years, the river was alive with yellow sallies, golden stoneflies, and salmonflies. I’ve had the pleasure of watching my clients boat several big browns and rainbows on huge dries!
