According to these photos and the report from Firehole Ranch, the trout are eating salmonflies on the Henrys Fork of the Snake, and the fishing is fantastic! Those anglers who love catching big trout on dry flies (read: all fly fishermen) anxiously await the arrival of these giant stoneflies, and news of their appearance leads to a frenzy of cancelled appointments, “sick” days, and signs turned to “Gone Fishing” in store windows.

Trout cannot resist such a big chunk of protein.

You have no problem seeing your fly on the water during stonefly season.
Not sure if I was early or late, but I was over their on Saturday: https://www.abennettphoto.com/fly-fishing/2014/05/henrys-fork-20140524/ Good times regardless!
