The 2017 Orvis Guide Rendezvous kicked off yesterday in Missoula, Montana. For more than 30 years, Orvis has been hosting a conference for professional fly-fishing guides from around the country. This event is open to all guides (not just those endorsed by Orvis) and features seminars, presentations, and workshops designed to help these guides improve their businesses. But it’s also just a great to place to network, meet new friends and connect with old ones, and get charged up for the season ahead.
Of course, there’s also time for fun, and the waters around Missoula present lots of opportunities to get into some beautiful trout. If you want to follow along with the action, check out the hashtag #OGR217 on Instagram. Here are some of our favorite posts so far.
One of the great parts about #ogr17 is that we can gain a lot of insight into how we might better connect with and enhance the experience of our guests in an evolving world. @rosenbauert spoke with us about his Orvis podcast, and how we can utilize the Orvis online platform to inform, educate, and entertain existing visitors, or appeal to the next generation who might visit us for the first time. #ogr17 #orvisflyfishing #libbycamps #orvisendorsed
