A beautiful brown goes back to fight another day.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to fish beside a man who took a kid fly fishing once. Some 25 years ago, Ben introduced his sons to the passion. This month, he turned 63, and they decided to take him fly fishing to celebrate. But don’t get confused: Ben fishes hard. Last year we fished through a category 1 hurricane in Colorado.

Our flotilla consisted of two kayaks and a raft.
On this trip, we had a small raft and two kayaks. We all expected the “old man” to get in the raft, but he jumped right into a kayak. Over the next two days, he held his own kayaking, wading, and working the oars. His loops were tight and his drifts were rewarded often. At 63 years young, he’s still setting the example and living the “old guys rule” slogan. I would fish with him any day of the week.

Ben hopped right into one of the kayaks, rather than just riding in the raft.

Two great days on the water made for a fun celebration.

It’s nice to get out of the boat once in awhile.

At 63, Ben still fishes as hard as his boys.

We wer graced with a gorgeous sunset to cap off the birthday weekend.
Hopefully this is communication with Drew Ross from lookinfishy. I love your videos. There’s beautiful places it’s all just awesome. I’m not that great of Fisherman so I would appreciate you telling me what you’re fishing and why. More technique. If there earlier videos on that I’m sorry I missed them. Keep up the good work.
