This native Laurel Highlands brook trout was lit up with color.
Photos by Vincent Piasecke
Back in October, reader Vincent Piasecke sent us a batch of great photos from the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, and it turns out that his winter fishing has been pretty good, too. Here are a few highlights from his recent adventures, catching wild brookies and browns (and a rainbow) on his trusty Superfine Glass 7½-foot 3-weight. I love how different trout from the same region, or even the same stream, can display different spotting patterns and coloration.

Very nice Vincent.
The Laurel Highlands are a true gem.
