Chad Allen—of Three Rivers Ranch in Ashton, Idaho—sent in this picture of his sister and a killer cutthroat. Mary spent an awesome day fly-fishing the South Fork of the Snake River with Three Rivers guide Nick Minor. Using one of Doug Gibson’s hopper patterns, she landed this chunky, gorgeous trout. Chad suggests that if you plan on fishing the South Fork, you can also try Golden Stones, Hoppers, Yellow Sallies, & PMDs from Spring Creek down to Byington.
He also pointed me to this very cool, interactive map of the South Fork, from Palisades Dam to Menan, showing the boat launches along some 62 miles of the river.
