New York fishing guide (and art professor) Alberto Rey sent in these pictures of his son having some early-season success, along with a note.
Here are a couple pictures of my 12-year-old son, Diego, fishing during our recent cold spell in western New York near Buffalo. Yesterday, he landed this big boy on a small white Zonker he had tied himself. There are a few fish trickling in the small streams, but there has not been any big pushes of the spring run steelies.
I suspect that Diego is now fully pumped up for that first big blast of lake-fresh fish. Nice work, young man!
