Save the Date for the 2015 Orvis Guide Rendezvous and Down the Hatch Fishing Festival in Missoula

Guides and anglers: block out April 23-25, 2015 on your calendar and start checking travel prices because the Orvis Guide Rendezvous (open to all guides) and the Down the Hatch Fishing Festival (open to all fishy folk) are returning to Missoula, Montana.

The Guide Rendezvous is open to all guides (not just those endorsed by Orvis) and features seminars, presentations, and workshops designed to help you as a professional fly-fishing guide. This will mark the 29th year that Orvis has hosted a conference for professional fly-fishing guides.

On Saturday, April 25th, the Down the Hatch Fish Festival will be held in Caras Park, right on the river, and it is open to everyone. Test-cast a bunch of rods, check out lots of other gear, enjoy live music, rub elbows with the likes of Tom Rosenbauer and Shawn “Diddy” Combs, and have a beer. Then head over to the historic Wilma Theatre for the 3rd Annual Orvis Film Fest. It’s a great time.

Of course, I shouldn’t have to explain all the fishing opportunities around Missoula, from the Clark Fork and the Bitterroot to Rock Creek and the Blackfoot. The Missouri is a short drive away, and there are countless other waters within striking distance.
