For the past few years, the Orvis Guide rendezvous and Down the Hatch Fishing Festival has been held in Missoula, Montana. I’m sure that many folks east of the Mississippi saw the photos, read the blog posts, and watched videos, while thinking, “When is it our turn?” The answer is: Now.
Block out February 18 and 19 on your calendar because the Orvis Guide Rendezvous (open to all guides) and the Down the Hatch Fishing Festival (open to all fishy folk) are coming to Asheville, North Carolina.
Wednesday the 18th kicks off with the Down the Hatch event. Join us at Highland Brewing Company for rod casting, the fishing Olympics, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music from Carolina Call Time (featuring Fishing Associate Sav Sankaran), and the highly anticipated Down the Hatch Film Festival.
Thursday the 19th brings the Orvis Guide Rendezvous Meeting—which is a chance for guides to network like crazy, attend marketing workshops, and explore best-practice panel discussions.
We look forward to seeing you in Asheville!
Guides can sign up for the Rendezvous here. When we have more information and tickets for the film festival, we’ll let you know.
Edit: Musical guest corrected.
I’m in!
Why the hell would this be a weekday event?
Most of the people that will be there are either unemployed or work in the hospitality industry so midweek is much better than a weekend.
Does it cost anything to attend the down the hatch festival ?
Jesse,
It’s a $10 ticket for the film festival and all proceeds are going to a local conservation project.
If I don’t forget, I am in.
If Ronnie Kittredge is going to be there, might I suggest a boycott???
Who are the nominies for 2018?
