Every spring, the guides at Falcon’s Ledge get ready for the upcoming season by spending as much time on the water as possible. It also means that the annual Orvis Guide Rendezvous is fast approaching. This year, the guide rendezvous was held in beautiful Missoula, Montana.
While at the rendezvous the guides attend a series of workshops and listen to guest speakers talk about how to become a better guide. Other fun activities included the “Down the Hatch” Film Festival, full of awesome films put together by filmmakers who love to fish. Other events that evoked some competition were the Guide Olympics and fly-tying contest.
Congratulations to Grant Bench and Tim Jenkins for taking first and second place respectfully in the fly tying contest.
Also, congratulations to Bryan Eldredge for taking third place in the guide cook off.
The rendezvous is a great way to get jazzed for the upcoming season and network with other guides, outfitters and lodges. Here’s a short video that gives you an idea what we did at the rendezvous this year. Enjoy!
