Looking to get your musky on this spring? Why not do it alongside a bunch of other fly-fishing fanatics and help a good cause in the process?
Towee Boats and Scientific Anglers will team up to host Hardly, Strictly Musky—The Southern Classic, a catch-and-release musky fly fishing tournament, May 2nd and 3rd on Tennessee’s Collins River. In its third year under various titles, The Southern Classic has become the annual spring “gathering of the tribes” for a weekend of great fishing, food, music and art.
This year’s event will kick off with a special registration and Iron Fly event on Thursday evening, with the actual fishing on Friday and Saturday. Friday night’s event is a fundraiser for Project Healing Waters and includes a BBQ dinner, craft beer from Calfkiller Brewing Company, art by Paul Puckett, and music from hit songwriter Trent Summar and Friends followed by rural-route rockers MidDay Farm Report. An awards happy hour will wrap up the tournament on Saturday evening.

Boat teams may consist of 2 or 3 anglers. Additional sponsors include Southern Culture on the Fly, TFO, 3 Rivers Angler, and Fly South. Registration is $145 per angler and includes all three events, food, drinks, door prizes, and an event T shirt. Participants can follow the event on the event’s Facebook page.
To register, call Towee Boats at 931-224-8181 or send an email.
