Take a Classic Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 09.12.13

Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love.

The last quiz on fly patterns was apparently much easier than the previous one, since there were 6 perfect scores. (Congrats Stephen, John L., Olivia Vasquez, Sean, Steve M. and Rob McCurdy!)

This week’s classic quiz (I’m stuck at home with a sick kid) features another twenty (20!) questions about fly-fishing books. As with last week’s quiz, some of the titles are regional, so don’t feel too bad if you don’t know them.

As usual, the randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a signed copy of Tom’s book The Orvis Guide to Small Stream Fly Fishing. This is a great book for anyone who loves getting off the beaten path and chasing blue lines. It provides all the information for finding and fishing unspoiled gems found everywhere from wilderness areas to suburban backyards. Last week’s book winner (as determined by random.org) was Adrian, who scored a solid C.

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win Tom’s book with his inspirational words on the title page.

Good luck!

  1. 55% – not bad for shooting from the hip a lot. Sam O. Trutta…Shield & Yarnell…Isaac Newton…hilarious wrong answers on this one had me snickering.

  2. 75 percent. Deep embarrassment. Time to read about fishing behind rocks.
(Hope your kid’s already feeling better.)

  3. Poo. 30% I have read more than 30% of these including “the complete angler” I just clicked on the first Isaac I saw. Not even spelled the same. Booooo
