Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 01.08.15

Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This one’s a classic, with questions that range from fly names to trout species to famous anglers.

The scores on the last quiz were a small step up from the previous one, with four perfect scores. Kudos to Brenda Drayer, James C. Murray, Jon Isabell, and Steve Root. However, the most common scores were 40% and 50%.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a sweet sticker pack and other assorted goodies. Our last book winner (as determined by random.org) was Andy B, who was in that “most common” range..

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win Tom’s book with his inspirational words on the title page.

Good luck!

    1. I like your logic!! I have a buddy who says, “I always limit out on grouse. Sometimes it takes me a month or so.”

  1. A rather poor 50%! I know all of the flies as steelhead flies; should have stuck with Max Canyon, which I tie.

  2. First time attempt at this wonderful quiz; scored an 80%; thanks for a wonderful learning experience; have a nice day
