Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 01.30.14

Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got a classic hodgepodge-style quiz, which covers a variety of topics.

The scores on last week’s Trivia Challenge were pretty impressive, given how difficult it was. You had to know a lot of geography to get a perfect score. In all, there were four 100%s (congrats CJ, Luke Alder, Casey, and Bob!) and one 90% (very close, BradW!). Lots of folks need to look at a map once in awhile.

The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a super-cool, now-available Helios 2 Buff. (See below.) The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Kurt J, who considers himself lucky to have achieved a passing score.

So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win a cool Buff.

Good luck!

  1. 100% correct … was a bit unsure about the hybrid and the river in Michigan Hammingway wrote about though – nice quiz, keep them coming.

  2. 60%. If I’d gone with my first choice on those, I would have had a perfect score! There’s a fishing lesson to be learned right there….

  3. 70 percent. Not great, but after several weeks of percentages worse than an NBA center’s free throw average, I’m glad to have it.

  4. Hmmm scored 40% and got an internal server error on submitting it!
Hard questions and a unwilling webserver… coffee anyone?

  6. My worst score ever! I must have been daydreaming. I hope spring arrives soon so I can get away from this keyboard and go fly fishing! 😉
