Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 04.11.19

Welcome to a classic edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got ten questions about fly-line terminology, legendary female fly-tiers, famous rivers, and more!

The performance on the last quiz was very strange. There were zero perfect scores, but three people–Steve, Stan Orlowski, and Roger–missed just one question. Then there were 14 at 80%, but the most common score plummeted to 40%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a signed copy of The Orvis Fly Fishing Guide by Tom Rosenbauer. It’s a completely revised (by your’s truly) edition of our classic guide to fly fishing that’s helped more than 200,000 anglers learn or improve upon the basics of the sport. More than 400+ new full color images make it even easier for thousands more anglers to enjoy learning this great pastime.

The winner of our last quiz, and recipient of The Orvis Guide to Leaders, Knots, and Tippets also by Tom Rosenbauer , is MarkT, who wrote, “A LOT of luck with this one.”

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great book.

Good luck!

  1. 80% – My best score ever! And, I actually changed my answers on the two misses. My first guesses were the right answers after all.
