Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 05.02.19

Welcome to an all-new edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got ten questions about famous rivers, books, scientific terminology and more!

The performance on the last quiz was a giant leap forward from the previous one. Although there were just two perfect scores–“Huzzahs!” for Kim and Doug–there were 10 folks who missed a single question and an astonishing 33 at 80%–the most common score, up from 40%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a signed copy of The Orvis Fly Fishing Guide by Tom Rosenbauer. It’s a completely revised (by yours truly) edition of our classic guide to fly fishing that’s helped more than 200,000 anglers learn or improve upon the basics of the sport. More than 400+ new full color images make it even easier for thousands more anglers to enjoy learning this great pastime.

The winner of our last quiz, who gets the same book by Tom Rosenbauer, is Joseph, who was on the wrong side of the bell curve.

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great book.

Good luck!

  1. Is my name really going into a drawing? Or do I need to duke someone to win this thing?

  2. 50% – I live in Sandpoint, Idaho which is located on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille (pronounced “ponder-ray”). The annual Kamloops and Kokanee Derby is underway right now. Bull trout are now a protected species and must be released unharmed.
