Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 06.06.18

Welcome to another edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got a classic, ten-question quiz about such varied topics as native fish species, the sources of rivers, fly patterns, and weapons of mass destruction(!).

The previous quiz produced two perfect scores, achieved by Allen Kessel and jake bonnerup. Bravo! For the third week in a row, seven respondents missed just a single question, and the most common score held steady at 60%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a special code to watchBig Land, from Tight Loops, for free on vimeo on demand. In an effort to better understand America’s first sport fish, and the eastern seaboard’s only native trout, filmmakers Chase and Aimee Bartee lead a canoe expedition into North America’s last great and unexplored frontier, Labrador. Driven by a rumor of an untouched and forgotten brook trout nirvana, they journey into the unknown.

The winner of our last quiz, who will receive a special code to watchBig Land, is Kenny, who rolled one right down the middle and opined, “Not bad for me.”

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great book.

  1. 70% – At least I got all three western rivers correct. I would have lost my Idaho citizenship had I missed the Salmon River. The Yak River is an hour drive from my home in Sandpoint. Local knowledge prevailed.
