Take a Classic Phil Monahan Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 02.11.21

Welcome to another edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This week, we’ve got 10 classic questions about famous fly fishers, bass species, fish distribution, and more.

The last quiz tested the wits of many of you, as there were just two perfect scores. Give it up for Roger, and Skip Persson. (Alan Burrows wrote “Aced it!” but didn’t put a score.) There weren’t many 90s or 80s, either. The most common score held steady at 50%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive the Complete Hy-Flote Floatant System, which includes all the fly-fishing floatant you need to keep flies afloat in one handy kit: premium gel, paste, powder, and fly dryer..

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by the Google random number generator)–who will receive Kip Vieth’s wonderful new book, The Orvis Guide to Muskies on the Fly–is Jim, whose score was average, indeed.

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great video.

Good luck!

  1. Boy, when you do know any of the answers and guessing does not work you get my score………20%
Actually 10% as I looked up the one with the shuck. It has to get better next week.

  2. Do you like these MAXCATCH fly tying materials, the quality is the best, and it is also more peculiar?

  3. My analytics matrix for guessing on multiple choice tests that served me well from grade school thru college failed me today. I got “all of the above” right “none of the above” times.
