Take an ALL-NEW Orvis Fly-Fishing Trivia Challenge 09.23.21

Welcome to another edition of our weekly trivia challenge, in which we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. It’s been a few months, as I’ve been super-busy. So here’s the first Trivia Challenge written by our new assistant blog editor, Evan Jones. This week, we’ve got 10 NEW questions about such topics as fishing records, famous rivers, fish behavior, and fly inventors.

The last quiz was a toughie, and there was just one perfect score. Give it up for Peter D, who aced two in a row! Six of you missed 100% by just a single question, though. The most common score and the most popular score jumped up two spots to 60%.

The winner of this week’s random drawing will receive a Bent Rod Badge Hat, which, which is made from recycled materials and features a vintage-inspired patch. (There’s also a redfish version.) This is a new hat in our ever-changing collection of cool lids.

The winner of our last quiz (as determined by the random.org)–who also gets a sweet hat, is Dave Tooke, who scored way better than average!

So post your score below (or below the post on our Facebook page!) for a chance to win a great video.

Good luck!

  1. 40% a toughie – good to see the Quiz is back

I have a question related to the older Quizzes.
During my available time recently, I went back through the whole almost 700 pages of the Orvis fly-fishing news posts, taking all the quizzes as I worked my way from present back to past. It seems that around page 500 or so, the Quizzes were listed about every week, but there was no “take quiz” button, so I couldn’t get to them. Is there any way of accessing these ancient quizzes, or am I just out of luck?

    Thanks,

    Peter G

  2. 60% – Pretty good considering every answer except one was a guess. And, I wasn’t totally sure of that one. Thanks for bringing back the quiz.
