Welcome to another edition of our trivia challenge, where we test your knowledge of all things fly fishing and where you might learn a thing or two about this sport we love. This one’s a new quiz, featuring 20 questions on famous fly-fishing waters in the United States. Of course, there may be other waters with the same name elsewhere, so please choose the most famous one for fly fishers.
The last quiz was pretty easy, apparently, for there were 17 perfect scores. Congrats to all you who really know your fly names.
The randomly chosen winner of this week’s quiz will receive a super-cool, not-yet-available Helios 2 Buff. (See below) The winner of our last quiz (as determined by random.org) was Hayden, who just squeaked by on the quiz, but succeeded in winning a prize anyway.
So, take this week’s quiz, and no matter how well or poorly you do, post your score in the comments below to be eligible to win a cool Buff.
Good luck!

50% I think we need a ruling on the Kootenai. It should be illegal for any state in the Lower 48 to name a river something that sounds so damn Alaskan. I’m giving myself a score of 60% based upon a technicality.

You scored 50%!
FYI–
In the Los Angeles area, we also have a San Gabriel River. The West Fork is a tailwater, and the East Fork a freestone. In the early 1900s, the San Gabriel was the natal stream for a large run of steelhead of significant size. Like many other west coast rivers, it was dam(n)ed to provide water storage for the eastern side of a growing Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley. Although there are no more steelhead, there is a self-sustaining population of beautiful, albeit small, rainbows. A lovely place to fish, as long as you walk past the Bud line–the distance required to pass the Budweiser cans and boxes left by less enlightened and lazy visitors.
